Why health screenings are available for over 18's only

As part of your experience with Davidsons Homes, we’re pleased to offer complimentary health screenings delivered in partnership with GPDQ, using advanced screening technology via Leo Broadnook the LEO360® AI Robot.

For those under 18, there are a few important considerations.

A higher standard of care for younger patients

In the UK, healthcare for children and young people follows specific clinical guidelines designed to ensure the highest level of safety and care.

These guidelines mean that anyone under the age of 18 must be seen in person by a clinician, rather than through a remote or automated service. This allows for a more complete assessment and ensures that any care provided is tailored appropriately.

Why in-person care is essential

Children’s health needs are different to those of adults and can be more complex. Seeing a clinician face-to-face enables:

  • A more detailed and responsive assessment
  • The ability to identify subtle or developing concerns
  • Appropriate safeguarding and consent procedures

For this reason, our clinical partner follows the GPDQ Paediatric Remote Consultations Policy, which outlines why remote or automated screenings are not suitable for under 18s.

Still part of the experience

While formal health screenings are reserved for adults, younger visitors are very welcome to be part of the experience.

They can:

  • Attend events and demonstrations
  • See the technology in action
  • Take part in guided, non-clinical demonstrations where appropriate

Putting care first

We understand this may feel limiting, but these guidelines are in place to ensure that children and young people always receive the most appropriate and safest form of care.

If you’d like to know more, our team will be delighted to help.
