Official opening of the Leo Broadnook consultation suite

On Sunday 1 March 2026, Davidsons Homes marked an important milestone in the Broadnook healthcare pilot with the official opening of the LEO Broadnook consultation suite at Broadnook Garden Village.

The event formally celebrated the launch of the facility

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was carried out by Laura Wilson, joined by residents of Broadnook and members of the project team who have been involved in developing and delivering the initiative. The event formally celebrated the launch of the facility and the progress made since the pilot was first agreed in May 2025.

Located behind The Middletons marketing suite at Broadnook Garden Village, the consultation suite is a dedicated clinical room designed to host the pioneering LEO360®. The system — locally named LEO Broadnook — enables a healthcare professional to conduct a comprehensive health screening in partnership with a remotely located GP.

During each appointment, a Health Care Assistant supports the patient and operates the technology within the suite, while the consulting doctor joins virtually. The LEO360® robotic platform provides the GP with the ability to carry out a wide range of clinical observations and examinations remotely, creating a consultation experience that closely mirrors a traditional in-person appointment.

The pilot project has been designed to explore how innovative technology, combined with community- based facilities, could support the future delivery of healthcare. In particular, it aligns with several key ambitions set out in the NHS Ten Year Health Plan, including:

· Moving more care into community settings

· Increasing the use of digital technology in healthcare delivery

· Supporting prevention and early detection of health conditions

Insights, experiences and data gathered throughout the pilot will be shared with NHS stakeholders and industry partners. The aim is to contribute to wider discussions about how new housing developments might better integrate health and wellbeing infrastructure into community design in the future.

The opening of the consultation suite represents a significant step in that journey — bringing together housing, technology and healthcare in a pioneering initiative based at the heart of the Broadnook community.
