A Private GP paid for by Davidsons

To help launch this pilot, Davidsons Homes has appointed GPDQ, a leading independent healthcare provider, to run these initial screenings.

By using a private service for this temporary trial, we can test this innovative technology quickly and efficiently, ensuring your data remains completely confidential.

The purpose of this information is to give you confidence about:

  • How your health information is gathered
  • Where it is stored
  • Who can access it
  • How (and only if you choose) it can be shared with your NHS GP

Why We’re Sharing This Information

We know health data is personal and sensitive. This pilot is designed to be transparent, optional, and resident-focused, with clear boundaries around who can see your information and how it is used.

Who Are GPDQ?

The health screenings and GP consultations are delivered by GPDQ, a UK-based private GP service. GPDQ provides qualified, GMC-registered doctors and professional healthcare assistants to carry out the screenings and remote consultations using our Leo Broadnook LEO360® robot.

They are responsible for the clinical care, medical oversight, and handling of all personal health information during the pilot. Davidsons Homes has appointed GPDQ specifically to help test how this technology could work safely and effectively in a local community setting.

Your Privacy, Your Data, Your Choice

Your medical information is treated as strictly confidential medical data.

  • Davidsons Homes and Lyons Global do not have access to any medical information collected during your screening or GP consultation.
  • Your results and consultation notes are handled only by the healthcare professionals delivering the service (via GPDQ and the GP conducting your consultation).

All health data is stored securely by the clinical service provider in line with UK data protection law and NHS-equivalent clinical data standards.

You are in control of what happens to your information:

  • You can choose to keep the screening and consultation private and not share the results with your own NHS GP.
  • If you do want your GP to receive the information, this can be done with your consent. In that case, a clinical summary is securely sent to your registered GP practice by the healthcare provider.
  • Once received by your GP, the information can then be added to your NHS medical record, ensuring continuity of care and avoiding the need to repeat tests or assessments.

No information is shared with anyone outside the clinical team without your permission.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, medical records are classified as “special category data,” meaning they require higher levels of protection due to their sensitivity.

This project aligns with the NHS Ten-Year Plan by bringing preventative care directly into the community. While we are working closely with local NHS GPs to share what we learn from this trial, the initial testing phase is being facilitated by GPDQ.

Why a Private GP Service & Temporary Consultation Suite Are Being Used

The use of a private GP service and the consultation suite behind the marketing suite at The Middletons is temporary and purely for the pilot phase. This allows Davidsons to:

  • Safely test how the technology works in a real community
  • Understand how residents experience remote GP consultations
  • Explore how this type of service could support local NHS services in the future

The learning from this pilot will be shared with local NHS GP practices and community health teams who have already shown interest in how facilities like this could possibly support healthcare delivery on new housing developments in the future.
