How the bespoke LEO360® Medical AI Robot came to Broadnook in a UK-First Community Health Pilot.
This pioneering initiative centres on the deployment of a purpose-built LEO360® Medical AI robot, developed by US-based health technology company Lyons Global. The project aims to explore how accessible, community-based health screening and remote GP consultations could support resident wellbeing, employee health, and future models of healthcare provision on new housing developments.
The collaboration was facilitated following a meeting between Lyons Global® founder Bita Lyons and Bill Kler, Group Chairman of the Kler Group, who introduced the concept to Davidsons Homes. After discussions with Managing Director James Wilson, the three organisations agreed to explore the pilot together.
Reflecting on his role in helping bring the collaboration together, Bill Kler emphasised the importance of innovation with purpose:
“When Bita shared her vision for LEO360® and its potential impact on community wellbeing, it was immediately clear this was something special. Davidsons Homes has a long-standing commitment to creating places where people genuinely thrive and bringing these two organisations together felt like a natural fit. I am incredibly excited to see this ground-breaking project come to life and support such a forward-thinking collaboration.”
Bill Kler, Group Chairman, The Kler Group
A face-to-face meeting on 8 May 2025 in Leicestershire, between Bita, Bill, and Davidsons Homes leadership team, agreed to take the first steps to make the ‘pilot concept’ become a reality.
The discussion focused on how digital health technology could potentially support residents relocating into a new community, particularly at times when local GP practices may be under pressure from the population growth associated with a new housing development.
During this initial workshop, the parties jointly agreed:
Unlike off-the-shelf deployments, the LEO360® for Broadnook was specified through a use-case–driven design process tailored to the operational and regulatory context of a UK residential development.
The final specification was informed by:
The stated objectives were to explore how Davidsons could possibly improve access to same-day GP consultations for residents, support preventative health screening, and reduce unnecessary pressure on local GP practices by providing an alternative route for appropriate, early-stage assessments.
Leo Broadnook has been configured as a clinical-grade Medical AI robot capable of supporting live, remote medical examinations. The system integrates CE-certified diagnostic peripherals, including:
The platform enables secure video consultations with licensed clinicians and incorporates GDPR-compliant data handling, encryption, enterprise-grade network security, and audit logging. A simplified, non-technical version of the specification is being developed for public-facing materials.
“I have spent my professional life working to make physical communication of healthcare and wellbeing more accessible between the individual and the specialist. With intelligent, two-way physical communication of medical information via LEO360®, it’s possible to facilitate everything from basic health screening to specialist consultations. Introducing this capability within a community setting pushes the boundaries of healthcare accessibility — and that’s what makes this an incredibly exciting trial. It’s a step closer to our goal of healthcare anywhere, anytime”
Bita Lyons, Founder and Vice Chairman, Lyons Global®
From final specification sign-off to deployment readiness, the build and configuration process took four months. This phase included hardware assembly, software configuration, clinical testing, and compliance validation to ensure the system was suitable for use within a UK healthcare and data protection framework.
Bita made multiple visits to the UK to support site assessments, stakeholder alignment, deployment readiness, and final operational checks. These visits took place across three periods:
These on-site sessions involved collaboration with Davidsons Homes, technical teams, and early engagement with local stakeholders to ensure the system was adapted appropriately to the Broadnook environment and operational setting.
The robot was manufactured and configured in the United States before being shipped to the UK via secure international freight. Logistics planning was coordinated to ensure compliance with customs processes, handling requirements, and device integrity standards.
The deployment was supported by controlled delivery, secure handling procedures, and pre-installation readiness checks.
“At our core, we believe in creating communities, not simply building homes. That commitment drives us to invest in services and experiences that truly benefit our residents. The introduction of LEO360® and the pioneering health and wellness offering at Broadnook Garden Village reflects that vision. We are confident this will complement the thriving community already taking shape here and provide even greater value and convenience for our customers.”

Davidsons Homes has positioned the Broadnook pilot as a learning exercise rather than a fixed service model. The company is engaging with local GP practices and the wider community health teams to explore how facilities of this type could, in future, support local healthcare provision and align with the ambitions of the NHS Ten-Year Plan, including:
The experience and data gathered from the pilot will be shared with interested NHS stakeholders and industry partners to inform future thinking around how housing developments might better integrate health and wellbeing infrastructure into community design.

LEO360® AI Robot Trials and Endorsements
LEO360® is a physician-powered medical AI robotic platform that has been clinically deployed and evaluated across multiple healthcare systems in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East. Its performance has been demonstrated through real-world pilots and operational programs in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care environments.
Turkey – ACIBADEM Healthcare Group (2023) LEO360® was piloted at the ACIBADEM ALIFE Healthcare Centre between October and November 2023. During the study, 663 physician-led robotic consultations were completed across long-term and inpatient care settings. A total of 18 specialist and subspecialist physicians from Turkey, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States participated in patient care. The platform enabled real-time physical examinations using hospital-grade diagnostic tools and significantly reduced delays in specialist access, helping avoid unnecessary hospital transfers
Clinicians reported high adoption and confidence in the system, with one physician noting that the platform allowed continuous oversight of patients without physical presence, improving both responsiveness and peace of mind.
United States – Specialty Care (2023–2024) In Southern California, LEO360® was deployed at a reproductive medicine practice to support multi-site specialist coverage. The pilot demonstrated high physician, staff, and patient satisfaction, while reducing physician travel time and maintaining continuity of specialist-led care across geographically separated clinics
United Arab Emirates – Acute Stroke Care (2025) In early 2025, LEO360® was used within the SEHA hospital network at Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Medical City (STMC) and Al Tawam Hospital as part of an AI-enabled tele-stroke program. The deployment achieved a greater than 90% reduction in time to neurologist evaluation and an approximately 80% reduction in inter-hospital transfers, enabling faster diagnosis and treatment decisions in time-critical stroke cases
United States – AI-Driven Clinical Screening (2025) LEO’s AI screening technology was also deployed in a high-volume gastroenterology practice to support pre-procedure patient assessment. Over ten weeks, the platform screened hundreds of patients with high completion rates, significantly reducing staff workload while maintaining strong patient satisfaction and accessibility, including after-hours engagement
