Introducing Leo Broadnook to Residents at Broadnook Garden Village

On 12 February 2026, residents living at Broadnook Garden Village were invited by letter to take part in the next stage of the pilot — the introduction of free health screenings for the local community, delivered through Leo Broadnook and the LEO360®. The invitation marked the first time residents were formally engaged in the project, positioning them at the heart of this UK-first initiative to explore how healthcare could be brought directly into a community setting.

An informal cheese and wine evening to meet Leo

Ahead of the first appointments, an informal cheese and wine evening was held at The Middletons Marketing Suite, giving residents the opportunity to see the LEO360® in person and understand what happens during a health screening. The event was designed to be relaxed and welcoming, removing any barriers to asking questions or expressing concerns. Residents were joined by local GPs and representatives from Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, creating a shared space for open discussion between the community and those involved in delivering care.

During the evening, attendees were able to speak directly with the robot’s inventor, watch the Healthcare Assistant demonstrate elements of the screening process, and hear from James Wilson and Bita about the vision behind the project and how residents could get involved. This open, informal approach helped demystify the technology and build confidence in how the service would work in practice.

The response from residents was overwhelmingly positive. Almost all of the available health screening appointments for the first weekend were booked, reflecting strong interest and appetite to take part. Feedback on the evening and the pilot concept was highly encouraging, with residents welcoming the opportunity to access convenient health checks locally and to play a role in shaping how this new model of community-based healthcare could develop in the future.

By placing residents at the centre of this early engagement, the project moved beyond demonstration into real-world participation — turning curiosity into action and starting to build a community around the potential of the LEO360® to support accessible, local healthcare.
